This three-day walk circles the peak of Vihren (2925m), the highest and the most majestic peak in the Pirin Mountains. It combines the possibility to admire the very peak from different spots and to pass the Koncheto saddle, the most famous narrow marble ridge in the Bulgarian Mountains as well.
What to expect:
Three-day hut to hut hike along ridges and rivers;
To be leaded by experienced guide (if guided option is chosen);
To spend the nights at warm and cozy huts;
Breakfast and dinner provided by the hut-keepers;

Trek Suitability
For those who want to join, should be:
- Fit and active traveller. Most of the trail is over rocky terrain that makes the hike more challenging.
- Ready to spend 2 nights in mountain huts. Each night the accommodation is in a different hut so it is important to pack light.
- Walk 3 days (8 hours) up to 13 km each day over a stony ground.
Difficulty: The trail is at the heart of the mountains, the terrain is stony, there are big ascends and descends. These components make the hike challenging. It is a trail for advanced hikers. The length of the distances and times require good shape and excellent head for heights. Nevertheless, the perfect panoramas make the walk pleasant and the time goes unnoticed.
Accommodation: The huts are well-maintained; the hut-keepers offer food and beverages. The huts are frequently visited, so you need to book the beds in advance. The Yavorov hut is arguably the best hut in Bulgaria.
Transport: There are mini-buses from the town of Bansko to the hut Vihren. Bansko town is connected with Sofia by bus line.
Security: The trail is totally secure. The most part of the trail is along well marked paths. Nevertheless, we recommend using a navigation application on the mobile phone or a real GPS device. The area is served by the mountain rescue teams.

Walk from the hut Vihren to hut Yavorov traversing the narrow saddle of Koncheto. It is supported by metal ropes that helps the hikers and increases their safety.

Yavorov hut - Zagaza hut
Walk from the hut of Yavorov to the Zagaza hut. This hut once was an old building but recently was transformed to a well-maintained and comfortable hut. In this way great new options have been opened for hiking in this amazing region.

How the “Self-guided trip” option works:
If you prefer to explore the mountain at your own pace, than chose the option “Self-guided trip”. In this case we will provide you a package of materials, including a written hike description together with a customized travel itinerary, GPS tracks of your trail and local information. In order to make your independent hiking tour a success we will do all of the necessary arrangements. That is why the accommodations in the package are prepaid.
